The Pommies were carrying a slight 2/1 points lead from Day One.....
Today's competition was 4BBB stableford.
Match One must have been a cracker! Fred and Brett had drawn VERY tough opponents in Phil & Patrick. Despite Brett not being able to find his ball on occasion,
the Aussie lads kept the game tight in what was a high scoring affair. By staying in touch, it meant Brett had the chance for "hero shot" on the last and he did it by holing a 45 foot putt to halve the match !This had to be a blow to the English, especially as McCavity was snapped going the early crow as seen here !................................................
No doubt that got Fred's and Brett's competitive juices flowing..

Match Two saw the "Smith's", in their horrible "Team Smith" shirts
go down to Tim & John who played solidly. Other than the shirts, no highlights were reported, nor any Rules debates.....
go down to Tim & John who played solidly. Other than the shirts, no highlights were reported, nor any Rules debates.....In the third match, Doc & I struggled and struggled against Richard & Charlie, unable to peg back their early lead. In the end, we got some valuable assistance from none other than Richard & Charlie! So much so that we stood on the 18th tee 4 points up. Virtually unassailable.
.
Interestingly, due to a vagary in Charlie's scoring system, one whereby he randomly puts scores on the left or right of the scorecard depending on the state of the match, Team UK actually thought they were tied with us on the tee!
.
Doc however proceeded to play an exquisite fairway bunker shot to get us 4/3pts and the match was over. Certainly though, we did stop to have some fun by the side of the 18th green while we sorted Charlie's card !

An important day for Oz, not wanting to fall further behind, Tim's team had now captured a 3.5 to 2.5 lead!
